Who we are

VitraFruits is based in Cape Town, South Africa, and is responsible for the information described here. For any privacy question or request, email orderinfo@vitrafruits.co.za with "Privacy" in the subject line.

What we collect

When you order, we collect your name, email, phone number, address and what you bought. PayFast handles your payment; we only learn that you paid, never your card details.

If you join our newsletter we keep your email address. If you use the contact form or chat on the site, we receive what you write.

Google Analytics tells us which pages are visited and roughly where visitors are. Your cart is saved in your own browser until you check out.

How we use it

We use your information to process and deliver your order, answer your messages, send the newsletter if you signed up and confirmed, improve the site, and keep the records the law requires. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. We don't sell or rent your information.

Who we share it with

Only what each service needs: PayFast for payments, our courier for delivery, our email provider for order emails, Mailchimp for the newsletter, FormSubmit for the contact form, Groq for the chat replies, Google Analytics for site statistics and Vercel, which hosts the site.

Some of these services store data outside South Africa. We only use providers whose data-protection terms offer protection comparable to POPIA.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them and as long as the law requires. South African tax law generally requires five years. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Anything else is deleted when we no longer need it.

Keeping it safe

The site uses encrypted connections, payments go through PayFast, and only the people who run the shop can see orders. If a breach ever affects your information, we'll tell you and the Information Regulator.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or tell us to stop using it for marketing. Email orderinfo@vitrafruits.co.za. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
